Sometimes the best thing you can do for a front yard is start fresh. The existing beds had run their course - overgrown, uneven, and pulling attention away from what is actually a really nice brick home. We pulled all three of them out and gave this yard a clean slate to work with.
From there, we built two new landscape beds and filled them with white decorative rock. That gravel does a lot of heavy lifting here. It reads clean from the street, it does not need to be watered or trimmed, and it holds its look season after season. Paired with fresh plants spaced out evenly, the beds feel intentional instead of just filled.
We also laid gravel along the side of the house near the AC unit - a spot that almost always gets ignored. Grass does not grow well there anyway, so gravel is a smarter long-term solution. It keeps mud down, looks neat, and just makes the whole perimeter of the home feel cared for.
The flag pole is the kind of finishing touch that ties a yard together. Planted out in the open front yard with a small gravel base around the pole, it gives the property a focal point - something that commands attention before you even reach the front door. Clean, proud, and exactly what the homeowner was going for.
This is what we mean when we say simple updates make a big difference. No massive overhaul. No heavy construction. Just thoughtful bed removal, fresh gravel, new plants, and a flag flying out front. The whole feel of the home changed.
